This is a full-time office-based role.
Some of the key responsibilities
This role is slightly unusual as you will be working in both pre-sale and post-sale project management. Many of our sales enquiries are long term and complex collation of information and so your project management skills will help keep everything on track, then you will be charged with delivering the customer order on-time and in-budget.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable with both high level and basic project management tasks and who will help us develop our systems.
You will be reporting into our Managing Director and working closely with the sales, technical and manufacturing teams.
The main responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Client management and ensuring delivery against the Contract.
- Supporting the Executive and sales teams on bid writing and reviews for new projects.
- Coordinating the team on project documents and deliverables.
- Assisting the Directors with planning of work.
- Providing regular updates into the Master Schedule to ensure compliance with Project timescales.
- Ensuring work packages are delivered within approved budgets.
- Assisting in maintaining positive and effective communication during the project.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Your expertise & skills
We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference and be responsible for finding new sales opportunities and driving them to a successful conclusion. This is very much a ‘hands-on’ role with 80% of your time talking to potential clients and building sustainable routes to market.
- You will be well organised and used to working with young, highly intelligent teams.
- You will need to be confident and methodical.
- A thorough understanding of ISO9001/AS9100 and, ideally, experience in implementing these within a business.
- Proven experience of delivering work packages within a highly complex project
- Proven experience working within a Project Management environment.
- Strong ICT skills
- A proactive approach to managing workload.
- An Engineering / Project Management background gained within Aerospace and/or Defence.
- Project management and/or risk management qualifications.
- Keen to get involved, with a positive and can-do attitude and a passion for helping the team produce great results.
- Good eye for detail, with the ability to organise and multi-task.
- Able to take own initiative, deal with difficult situations effectively and calmly.
It will be essential for this role that you are entitled to live and work in the UK and there will be a specific requirement for you to undergo vetting and successfully achieve an NSVS security clearance.

ISS is looking for a passionate UAV systems software engineer. This role is designed to primarily to exploit our class leading UxV hardware and processing capabilities in the autonomy critical sectors we currently operate in. ISS is a fast moving developer of UxV solutions for some of the most challenging unmanned applications in todays market. In this role you will be working with both our internal ISS teams and external partners to produce solutions for our varied range of customers.

This is an office-based role and will require you to commute on weekdays.
Some of the key responsibilities
The main responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Fast paced software development, integration and testing either for release into our established hardware ecosystem, or as part of novel R&D and trials based activities.
- Creation, maintenance and optimisation of a code base for the ISS UxV hardware. Utilising ROS/ROS2, bespoke software and third-party integrations.
- Act as a bridge between ISS and our various software partners to ensure streamline integration of their capabilities into our ecosystem
- Working with the concept and hardware teams to imagine new capabilities, features and products
- Exploit and implement all available capabilities from the autonomy hardware present on our platforms
- Development of the interface between the user and the UxVs, either bespoke as a general framework, or via third party autopilot/GCS systems
- Develop and implement a robust testing system for the stability of any software and autonomy systems
- Research develop and implement new autonomy, software and interface features, and source/review appropriate enabling sensors and hardware
Your expertise & skills
- Good working knowledge of the fundamentals of UAVs and UxVs. Including sensors, actuators, navigation, autopilots, control theory
- Excellent working knowledge of frameworks and open-source protocols in UxVs (Ardupilot, MAVLink etc)
- Proficency with Python, C++, Linux, LUA scripting
- Experience utilising Nvidia Orin/Xavier/AGX hardware as companion computers in UxVs
- Computer vision based positioning and navigation experience (SLAM, Visual Oddometry, Segmentation etc)
- ROS/ROS2 & MAVProxy experience
- Code deployment on low SWaP computers at the edge
Beneficial To Have
- A degree in Computer science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related subject
- Experience with simulation tools such as Airsim, Gazebo, X-Plane Unreal Engine etc
- Previous experience developing plugins and scripts for Q, Mission Planner and other GCS software platforms
- PX4, Micropilot, Cloudcap and other flight stack experience
- Rapid prototyping skills, and experience with design and deployment of complex robotic systems
